Kylie Jenner Might Go To Jail: The Power of Accusations
By: Alex E.
Over many years, the name Kylie Jenner was synonymous with plagiarizing and theft. Tabloids compared Jenner with other well-known celebrities in competition to solidify their point of view. However, no solid proof arose, confirming Jenner to be a theft. In 2018, Forbes forecasted Jenner to be the "youngest self-made billionaire" in 2019.
During the article, Jenner’s worth estimated to be $900 million. A few months later, Forbes reported Jenner crossed the billion-dollar threshold and officially became the youngest to a billion. Now, Forbes enabled an investigation to review Jenner’s financial records. Forbes revoked her billionaire status and implied Jenner and her team might have inflated her success for years. If the accusations are found true, Kylie Jenner might go to jail.
Criminal defense attorney Adam Michael Sacks shared in an interview "It's very hard to believe someone at her level would risk major tax fraud,..if she was dumb enough to submit forged documents to the IRS, she would likely be looking at some serious jail time." He continued to express how “it was highly unlikely that Jenner did do this, It's absolutely possible someone said to her 'Let's massage a little here and massage a little there' when speaking to Forbes."
Jenner took to social media to respond to doubter’s saying, "What am I even waking up to. I thought this was a reputable site.. all I see are a number of inaccurate statements and unproven assumptions lol...I've never asked for any title or tried to lie my way there ever. Period."
Forbes responded, “based on this new information, plus the impact of COVID-19 on beauty stocks and consumer spending, Forbes now thinks that Kylie Jenner, even after pocketing an estimated $340 million after taxes from the sale, is not a billionaire.”
