Michael Strahan Opened Up About His Tense Relationship with Former Live Co-Host Kelly Ripa

Michael Strahan, former co-host of the top-rated, nationally syndicated entertainment talk show “LIVE with Kelly and Michael” during 2012-2016 shared incite regarding the tension off-screen, which forced him to go in another direction. In a recent interview, Strahan addressed the reports on his departure four (4) years ago. He explained how he was "asked" to leave the show.
“It was really not a choice. It was a request...Certain things that were going on behind the scenes just caught up.” - Michael Strahan
Strahan was extremely excited to transfer from passing footballs to daytime television and partnering with his established co-host. However, the partnership began to become one-sided. This distance led to messaging issues, which called for weekly meetings between the two (2) to stabilize the line of communication.
“We met a few times, and that was fine...but then eventually she said she didn’t need to meet...you can't force somebody to do something they don’t want to do...I’ve had jobs where I got there and felt like: Wow, I didn’t know I was supposed to be a sidekick. I thought I was coming here to be a partner.” - Michael Strahan
Strahan, the Emmy award-winning, best-selling author, business owner, fashion icon, father of four (4), moved on to more significant projects. He is a producer and actor, known for Ice Age: Collision Course (2016), Magic Mike XXL (2015) and Entourage (2004). Outside of the busy schedule, Strahan manages so well, and he contributes to many charitable works. Strahan is involved with numerous charities, including The USO, HELP USA and Merging Vets and Players, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and SeeHer. Providing actual support for those in need has been a commitment he has demonstrated while a football player and now as a TV star.
The strategic planning from Strahan's support staff gave birth to great opportunities. Strahan's new daytime television show staring Sara Haines, Michael Strahan, and Keke Palmer are quickly becoming a staple in American pop-culture. It is refreshing to witness growth and development in "real-time" between Strahan and his former co-host Kelly Ripa.
“If people think, Oh, he hates her — I don’t hate her. I do respect her for what she can do at her job. I cannot say enough about how good she is at her job." - Michael Strahan
